The Liebig collection is one of the largest chromo collections. It comprises 1871 different series, mostly of 6 prints, all published between 1872 and 1975. Without counting the different languages, the original collection comprises approximately 11500 prints. Some prints are very rare and sought after by various collectors.
The Liebig cards are distinguished by the high quality of the chromolithographic prints – up to 12 colors – and the perfection of the images. In many cases made by renowned artists.
The series usually comprise 6, 12 or 18 prints, with either product advertising, a menu, explanatory notes or additional commentary on the back.
